VijayaDasami Day 10

Day 10

     During Navarathri we are celebrating tenth day as Vijaya Dasami for Vijaya Devi, one of the form of Durga. Vijaya means Victory and Dasami is the Tenth day of the Thithi. We connoting the festival on the tenth day celebrating the victory of good over evil. On this day we worshipped goddess Navadurgai to get strength and Victory for everything.

Vijayadasami is the festival also dedicated to Goddess Saraswathi who divine of education, Knowledge. This auspicious day is celebrated also for starting formal education.

Navaratri Sloka Day 7

Day 7

        During Navratri day seven Goddess Saraswathi is worshipped. She is one of the principle goddesses in Hinduism. She also known as divine of Knowledge and Education. Goddess Saraswathi is portrayed as having a beautiful appearance, with four arms, dressed in white, seated on a white lotus, with holding the Veena in both front hands.

Flower : Kewda Flower (Thaalampoo родாро┤роо்рокூ)

Neivedhyam : Lemon rice

Color : Blue

Thithi : Sapthami

Kolam : Draw Rangoli by using fragrant flowers like Jasmine, Lilly.

Raagam : Bilahari Raagam

Slokam: 

Om Vaakdevyai vidhmahe

Vrinji pathnyai sa Dheemahi

Thanno Vaani Prachodayaath.

Sloka For Improving Studies.

Jnaanandamayam daevam

Aadhaaram sarva vidhyaanaam

Hayagreevamupasmahae.

Meaning : 
    
              I worship Lord Hayagriva, who is the very form of knowledge, pure as a crystal, and who is the support of all knowledge.



            Lord Hayagriva is  a avatar of god Vishnu. 'Haya' means Horse and 'Griva' means neck, well known horse faced god of Hayagriva and god of knowledge and wisdom. One who prays Hayagriva shall be blessed with all knowledge and wisdom. He is the one who taught knowledge to Goddess Saraswati. 

           Chants this sloka to attain true knowledge of Education, good concentration in Studies and to have memory power.

Ganesha Prayer

Ganeshas prayer in Moothurai Poem is written by famous poet Avvaiyar.
this prayer is apt for children who goes to school; this prayer is considered as good for children  to improve education and sharpen those knowledge, Maha Periyava also said.

Those who seek the trunk faced Lord with red-coral like complexion and worship his feet with flowers without fail will be blessed with good speech (literary ability, knowledge), good heart (good thoughts). They will also have the favourable looks of the Goddess seated on lotus (Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth) and their bodies shall not be afflicted with diseases.

Sloka for Education.



"Saraswati namastubhyam varade kamarupini
vidyarambham karishyami siddhirbhavatu me sada."

Meaning:O Mother Saraswati, my humble prostrations to Thee who art the fulfiller of all my wishes. I start my studies with the request that Thou wilt bestow Thy blessings on me.
